Website Page Planner

A business website needs enough pages to answer what customers ask and what they search for, and no more. Enter your main services, the areas you serve and what you want the site to do. The planner suggests a page list and structure, explains why each page is there, and exports it as a sitemap plan for your designer or developer.

Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser: nothing you enter is stored or sent to us.

About the business

Leave empty if not local, or use the Location Page Planner first.

What should the site do?

How the page list is built

  • Core pages, always: Home, About, Contact, Privacy Policy. Most sites also need a Services overview once there are three or more services.
  • One page per main service: each service people search for separately deserves its own page so it can rank and answer specific questions.
  • Location pages: only for the areas you list, and only where you can write genuinely local content.
  • Goal-driven pages: Reviews/Case studies for trust, Pricing when you can publish it, a Booking page, Shop pages, a Blog or guides hub, FAQ, and Careers if you are hiring.
  • Legal extras: Terms for online sales or bookings, and a Cookie policy if you use non-essential cookies.

Each page is given a suggested URL, a parent (for menu structure) and a purpose. The rules reflect what most small service and ecommerce businesses need; adjust freely.

Why more pages is not always better

Pages without a clear purpose or unique content dilute the site and cost time to maintain. Every page should either answer a real question, target a search people make, or move visitors closer to contacting you. Our article how many pages a business website actually needs covers this in detail.

From plan to build

Take the CSV to your designer or developer as the agreed scope, estimate effort with the Website Project Scope Estimator, and if you are replacing an existing site, map old URLs to the new ones with the Redirect Map Validator.
