Marketing Report Automation Planner

Most reporting time goes on gathering and formatting numbers, not on thinking about them. List the reports you produce, where their data comes from, how often and how long each takes. The planner estimates how much of that time automation could save, flags sources that are harder to connect, and keeps the analysis and recommendations with a person.

How savings are estimated

Monthly hours = hours each time × times per month

Automatable hours = monthly hours × (1 − analysis share) × source factor

The source factor reflects how easy each data source usually is to connect to dashboards or reporting tools: mainstream platforms with standard connectors (GA4, Search Console, Google Ads, Meta Ads, major CRMs) score high; social platforms with limited exports, spreadsheets and offline sources score lower; unknown sources are treated as moderate. A report’s factor is the average of its sources. These are planning estimates based on typical connector availability, not guarantees for your accounts.

What to automate and what to keep

Getting started

  1. Start with the report that takes the most hours each month.
  2. Agree the handful of metrics that actually drive decisions; drop the rest.
  3. Build a live dashboard, then replace the written report with a short summary that links to it.
  4. Make sure tracking is consistent first: tagged links (UTM Builder) and correctly set-up conversions.
